  • Wulan Deng obtained B.S. in Biological Science from Peking University in 2016, and Ph.D. in Molecular and Cell Biology from University of Pennyslvania in 2012, during which she was awarded multiple honors including President Gutmann Leadership Award, Distiguished Research Trainee Award, and ASH Merit Award from American Society of Hematology. After graduation, she joined the Transcription Imaging Consortium (TIC) at the Janelia Research Campus of HHMI as a Research Specialist with mentorship from former HHMI president Dr. Robert Tjian and Dr. Robert Singer. She was a Helen Hey Whitney Postdoctoral fellow. In 2017, she followed Dr. Robert Tjian and moved to University of California, Berkeley as a postdoctoral researcher. She joined BIOPIC and School of Life Sciences in Peking University this August. Her research group is focused on the regulation mechanisms of transcription and chromatin, and their dynamics at single molecular level.
