Prof. Yanyi Huang Elected to Royal Society of Chemistry

 

According to an announcement of Royal Society of Chemistry of UK, BIOPIC PI, Professor Yanyi Huang was elected to its Fellow. Founded in 1841, RSC is the oldest academic society of chemistry in the world. Every year, it elects outstanding chemists that have made significant contributions to the development of chemistry as its fellows. On Dec. 6th, representatives from RSC presented the certificate of the fellowship to Professor Huang on the International Conference of Chemical Biology held at the College of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering of Peking University.

Born in 1975, Professor Huang received his BS and PhD from College of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering of Peking University in 1997 and 2002 respectively. He completed his postdoctoral researches at Caltech and Stanford and returned to the College of Engineering PKU as a PI in 2006. In 2010, he joined the newly founded BIOPIC.

Huang group is working on technology development for integrative biology researches. His current research interests include genome sequencing technologies, microfluidics, and bioimaging.
