Jie Qiao Joins BIOPIC as Adjunct Professor

 

Professor Jie Qiao, MD, PhD, Director of Peking University Third Hospital, joins BIOPIC as Adjunct Professor.

Professor Qiao received her Bachelor’s degree in 1987 and MD and PhD in1996 from Beijing Medical University. She visited Queen Mary Hospital, University of Hong Kong in 1996 and did her postdoctoral research at Stanford University Medical Center in 2003.

Professor Qiao’s group focuses on clinical treatments, medical education and research in the fields of Obstetrics and Gynecology, specifically in fertility areas adopting ART. Her main research interests include single cell genome analyses, reproductive endocrinology, fertility preservation and improvement. In addition, she carried out researches on minimally invasive surgery, particularly with laparoscopy. Professor Qiao has published over 400 papers.

Professor Qiao is also Director of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of PKU Third Hospital, Chairman of the Chinese Society of Reproductive Medicine (CSRM), and serves on boards of the Androgen Excess and PCOS Society, as well as the Asian Journal of Andrology. She also acts as an Editorial Member for Reproductive Biology and Endocrinology and Seminars in Reproductive Medicine, and reviewer for Lancet, Human Reproduction, BJOG, Fertility and Sterility, PLoS One, RBM online, etc.

Since 2011, Professor Qiao’s group has actively collaborated with Professors Fuchou Tang and Xiaoliang Sunney Xie of BIOPIC on various projects, which result in some high-impact publications. One paper, published in Cell in 2013, explores genome analyses of single human oocyte, and another, published in Nature in 2014, investigates the DNA methylation landscape of human early embryos.
