讲者介绍：Gerd A. Blobel, MD, PhD, holds the Frank E. Weise III Endowed Chair in Pediatric Hematology at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Blobel earned his MD degree summa cum laude from the University of Heidelberg, Germany, and his PhD degree from The Rockefeller University in New York. He completed his postdoctoral training at Boston Children's Hospital and Harvard Medical School.

    Dr. Blobel is Co-Director of the Epigenetics Institute at the University of Pennsylvania. He has been continually funded by the NIH since arriving at Penn and held an NIH MERIT award. In 2014, he received the Stanley N. Cohen Biomedical Research Award, and in 2015, he was honored with the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Mentor Award. He was elected to the American Society for Clinical Investigation (2004), the Association of American Physicians (2008), and the National Academy of Medicine (2025).
